Readings By Simone Is Creating Space For Us To Honor Our Ancestors

Simone Arthur first started to come into her spiritual gifts in her mid-twenties. She recalls this being the toughest period in her life. She was an immigrant living in New York, trying to figure out her career path while working a corporate marketing and event planning job that wasn’t feeding her spirit.

And then on a warm Sunday afternoon in preparation for her baptism with Archbishop Dr. Voni Johyn of Isaiah’s Temple Spiritual Baptist Church, her gift as a medium and intuitive reader manifested. Suddenly Simone could see, hear and talk to spirit.

She had always been deeply intuitive and spiritual, but she fought her calling at first. Eventually she accepted the fact that her path called for something different and she surrendered to the journey. “After deep self-reflection I realized that I needed to focus on my spirituality, and the peace and clarity that came with this shift were life-changing,” explains Ìyá Simone.

“It’s one of the main reasons that I’m so focused on providing spiritual guidance to people who are at the beginning of their spiritual journeys. I know the struggle! But as personal as our spiritual journeys are, we don’t have to struggle through them alone.”

The Birth of Readings By Simone

That was over 15 years ago! Since then Ìyá Simone has offered spiritual readings to people from all walks of life across the globe, sharing insights on their personal, professional and spiritual life.

Ìyá Simone is now an Ifá Priestess and highly sought-after spiritualist, medium and intuitive reader. And through her practice, Readings By Simone, she provides a pathway for us to connect with loved ones who have transitioned, and to receive spiritual guidance on the past, present and future.

“To be able to help people achieve the clarity and peace of mind that comes with knowing what you need to do to move forward is a gift that I don’t take lightly. The self-doubt, the racing thoughts, the anxiety that comes with living life can be overwhelming at times, so I’m always grateful when people who don’t want to live that way any longer find their way to me,” she shares.

Ìyá Simone provides spiritual readings, teaches a spirituality course, hosts a podcast (Sacred Conversations With Simone) that shines a light on healers of all modalities, and also hosts a Club House room (Readings By Simone). All of it while guided by her Ancestors.

A Supportive Space For Diaspora

In Spring 2022, she was guided to curate a retreat for those in the diaspora who may not get the community support that they need while walking in their spiritual journeys. The result was Sacred Conversations With Our Ancestors, a four-day guided experience dedicated to honoring our ancestors, that was held on the beautiful island of Barbados.

“I was initially drawn to the east coast of the island because I was born there, but then I realized that if you sail from that side of the island, the Atlantic Ocean carries you from the shores directly home to Africa, without once touching land mass. And the energies of the elements that are available to us through this passage are powerful,” says Ìyá Simone.

Sacred Conversations With Our Ancestors

The second annual Sacred Conversations With Our Ancestors is being held from October 13-17, 2022, at Santosha Resort. The experience will bring together healers and those in the diaspora seeking a deeper spiritual connection. Attendees will learn from licensed clinical therapist Ìyá Ìfè Michelle Milligan, who’s leading a workshop on mental health and spirituality, and they’ll go deep into the ancient practice of ancestral veneration with Ìyá Simone’s guidance.

According to Ìyá Simone, “They’re going to learn to identify the love language of their Ancestors and gain a deeper understanding of spiritual messages, so they feel empowered and confident to use the skills they’ve learned during their time with us as they continue on their spiritual journey.”

Attendees will also get to do sunrise yoga with yoga and pilates instructor Lana Sealy, enjoy daily nutritious cuisine prepared by Chef Dane, spend a day at shore at Sands Hotel with a sunset meditation, and be treated to branded gift bags, among other gifts and activities.

“I still can’t put into words what the experience was like last year. All I can say is that you’ll leave the retreat a different person.”

Tickets are intentionally limited to give attendees the care and attention that they deserve. If you feel called to honor your Ancestors among people of African descent just like you, visit www.ReadingsBySimone.com to learn more about the retreat.
